The interest in international beauty products brought me to this little gem.
My overall thought:
This is why Too Faced is so big. They understand it’s good to have a product but CUTE IT UP and the girls go WILD. Before “Kawaii” there was Hello Kitty. So girls understand having cute scents and having things smell like candy and cake and come in containers with uber-cute drawings and shapes of flowers, hearts, moons and clovers. It’s just ooh and ahh.
This is essentially a dupe for BENEFIT’S benetint. If you are familiar with the origins of benetint, then you know it’s not a quaint little story. It’s more like a rated X version.
Peripera is the company brand from Korea and Peri’s Lip Tint comes in several “fruit named” shades. The fruit names are really for the colors – the orange is orange color, the cherry is cherry color, etc.
What I found interesting is the cutesy-rockabilly in a milk carton box look that this lip tint comes in. The writing on the packaging comes in mostly Korean, with interestingly, the name of the shade color in English. The sole thing, really.
When you open the top, within is the product in what feels and looks VERY similar to benetint.
The difference is the applicator nib. benetint‘s is a brush while Peri’s is a big slightly curved nib.

PERI’s Tint “Pink Juice”:
The wand or stick part is very short. The nib absorbs product and feels like a sponge going across your lip. The color distribution is initially streaky and very wet, and applying this means that since this is a tint, it’s essential to get the color distributed as quickly and smoothly as possible.
The one I showcase below is called “Pink Juice”. The smell is not overt, but it doesn’t smell like anything flowery or fruity. If you taste it while drying it’s kind of chemical, doesn’t taste good.
The color is to make your lips look rosy, healthy, sweet. It’s a stain which I hope means that this lasts on your lip without having weight. I had applied my usual lip exfoliator and lip primer before applying this. If you have dry cracked peeled lips it’s not going to look very good.
It’s very simple to apply. Then to close the nib onto the container you tighten it back up. It’s a dark pink liquid just like benetint.
The other one I got was the Cherry Juice one. The Cherry one gave me an initial impression of cherry cough syrup. But no real overt cherry scent. Rather low key.
I wouldn’t make a point of eating or licking these things. What’s interesting is the tint does not dry out the lips, which is a nice bonus.
Peripera has a line of lippies, along with these tints, something called “tint pencils,” (which is a more crayon texture version of the lip tints) and lip balms in little cute tins. I found Peri’s lip tint on Amazon. Price is around $6.00 (U.S.) each.
I applied this to my cheeks as well to give me a little healthy glow. This is fun when you you are taking a day off from the makeup, and don’t want to do a whole fancy thing on your face but want to look healthy so you don’t scare anybody who is not used to seeing you without makeup. I wore this with Maybelline Falsies Push Up Angel mascara. My low key makeup look for today.
I will update this after dinner to see how this stays on.
TWO HOURS and a dinner later:
Color has faded slightly especially in the middle of the lips and is slightly less shiny. You will need to touch this up. Still, it provides a tint to my lips. And my lips don’t feel dry, this feels very light on the lips.
